RE: Public Reopening of Town Buildings
DATE: June 9, 2021
The Town of Dover is pleased to announce the reopening of your Town House and other Town buildings to the public during regular business hours on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. The Dover Town Library will open July 1, 2021. The Town will follow the CDC and State’s guidelines in lifting COVID-19 restrictions, including face mask requirements, social distancing, and contact tracing for fully vaccinated individuals. Those who have not been fully vaccinated are strongly encouraged to continue social distancing and wearing face masks. There may be individuals who wish to continue wearing face masks for various reasons and we ask that their personal choices be respected.
With the Governor lifting the state of emergency, the fate of remote public meetings continuing is in limbo. Town leadership is waiting to hear from the State regarding legislation to continue remote public meetings until September. We recommend any public meeting that is scheduled after June 15, 2021 be scheduled as an in-person meeting. We will keep you informed as we learn more in the coming days.
Town offices have remained operational throughout the pandemic. The safety and wellbeing of the general public and staff has been our top priority and we greatly appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during this time. The Town’s COVID-19 website remains active and contains the most up to date information regarding Dover COVID-19 news.
