Mission Statement

The members of the Dover School Committee and the Dover members of the Dover-Sherborn Regional School Committee are elected by Dover’s residents. The school committees work with the Superintendent of Schools and school administration to oversee the operation and education program of Chickering School and the Dover-Sherborn Middle School and High School.

Responsibilities

Dover School Committee
There shall be a five-member School Committee elected on a rotating basis of one or two members each year for three-year terms. The Committee’s duties and authority shall include, but shall not be limited to, those specified in Massachusetts General Laws (MGL) Chapter 71, Section 37 et seq.

Dover-Sherborn Regional School Committee
There shall be three Dover members of the Dover-Sherborn Regional School District Committee elected on a rotating basis of one member each year for a three-year term. Including the three elected Sherborn members, the Committee’s duties and authority shall include, but shall not be limited to, those specified in MGL Chapter 71, Sections 16, 16A et seq.
