All Multi-Purpose Fields (i.e. soccer/lacrosse/field hockey) and Baseball Diamonds, at the Chickering Playfields and Caryl Park & Playfields are OPEN WITH CAUTION for the Weekend of June 14th-June 15th
We are asking all coaches and league officials to use caution throughout the day and stay alert to changing weather conditions. Please keep the following guidelines in mind:
- If it begins to rain, has recently rained, or if you observe soft spots, water seeping up when walking, or standing water, you must close the field and cancel any practice or game that is scheduled.
- Coaches are responsible for checking field conditions prior to every game or practice
- Pay close attention to infield conditions, as these areas are more susceptible to becoming unplayable. If the infield is too muddy or has standing water, games must be canceled.
- If conditions allow, practices may still be held using the outfield only, but only if it is safe and playable.
For any questions regarding your specific team practice or game schedule, you will need to contact your coach or league officials.
All Dover Parks & Recreation Department field decisions are FINAL and WILL STAND UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, with updates being posted whenever necessary, but typically on weekdays between 12:00 - 1:00pm.
