[ARCHIVED] Ongoing Road Resurfacing by DPW

Road Resurfacing

Roads to be Resurfaced:

The Department of Public Works has scheduled cold planing and resurfacing (cold planing - Theremoval of existing asphalt by milling. Resurfacing - Add new 1-1⁄2 inch layer of asphalt (bituminous) overlay) on the entire length of the following town-owned roadways: Bridge Street, Haven Street, and Wildwood Road.

The project is set to commence on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 7:00 am, but please note that the start date may be subject to change due to inclement weather or scheduling delays with the Town's roadway contractor, Lorusso Corp.

During the operations, there may be partial lane closures and full road closures. However, local residents will have continued access to their properties, although there may be short delays. It's important to be aware that these restrictions may be altered during construction due to safety or traffic volume concerns.

Roads to be Micro Surfaced:

Road Resurfacing work by the Dover DPW continues with the micro surfacing of selected streets in Dover. Micro Surfacing is a thin (3/8-inch) preventive maintenance treatment applied to existing paved surfaces that have been crack-sealed. This treatment extends the life of the asphalt by providing skid resistance, limiting moisture intrusion, UV damage, surface raveling, and enhancing appearance.

Phase 1 is expected to start on July 18, with isolated patchwork along the roadway. Phase 2 is anticipated to begin the week of 8/12.

Please adhere to the directives of police details, detour signs, and warning signs during all construction operations. If you have any questions or need additional information, please don't hesitate to contact the Department of Public Works at 508-785-0058 or via email at Towngarage@Doverma.gov.
