Field Status

Dover Parks & Recreation oversees and handles all maintenance, care and closures of the public, athletic playing fields at Chickering Fields and Caryl Park.

The department always does all that we can to keep all playing fields open for resident use, but in the event of poor weather and wet or dangerous field conditions, playing fields will be declared closed and may not be used until conditions improve and the department re-opens them.

Department field decisions are final and updates will be made, whenever necessary, on weekdays between 12:00 - 1:00pm.
